About

Mwforall.com (Mental Wellness for All) aims to provide general information about developing mental wellness. We do not currently offer mental health services on this site. We recommend using Psychology Today to search for a therapist in your area, or using betterhelp.com to find an online therapist.

We believe that general education about mental wellness and the various types of psychological therapies available will help individuals to become more equipped to make beneficial changes in their lives, and to become more informed consumers of mental health services.

Some of the Advantages of Therapy vs. Talking with Friends/Family

  • Confidentiality
  • Sharing some things with friends or family may not be prudent (counseling is temporary as opposed to a possibly life-long relationship)
  • Objectivity of an outsider (you, and those closest to you, may be “too close to the problem” to see effective solutions; see Solomon’s paradox)
  • Input from an experienced professional
  • Interventions that are evidence-based, not just anecdotal
  • Counseling is not just advice, it is a collaborative approach where different options are weighed

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or if you are thinking of suicide use the resources below.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline — Live chat or call 988

Crisis Text Line: Text START to 741-741

https://www.warmline.org — Find a warmline near you. A warmline is an alternative to hotlines like 988. They are staffed by peer specialists who have lived through mental health crises or substance use issues. Warm lines are less likely to give information to police and other authorities that might unintentionally escalate a crisis or subject a person to involuntary treatment or hospitalization.
